Interests
Music
I absolutely love playing the marimba. Take a look! (I’m the person playing 4 mallets)
And I’m decent at the snare drum - just good enough to play in the high school marching band.
The music I listen to, however, is not so simple to explain.
One moment, I’ll listen to rap music or something energetic.
Then the next moment, I’m listening to video game soundtracks.
My most played artists are definitely Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, The Creator,
but Lena Raine and Nobuo Uematsu are both there too.
Computers
I’m currently developing code for a microcontroller literally vertically attached to my bulletin board with 5 clear push pins (see PicoLaunchTimer).
Back in the summer of my freshman year of high school, I saved up my money and built a mid-range desktop computer.
I kid you not, it hasn’t faltered whatsoever. I don’t know what magic I was using in 9th grade.
I like to play video games, specifically pretty much nothing but single-player games on the Switch 2.
Rocketry
I’ve been paying decently close attention to the Starship program since SN5’s 150m hop test back in 2020, along with the Demo-2 mission carrying Bob and Doug.
Nowadays, I’m just praying that Ship 35 Ship 36 Ship 37 (please bro) doesn’t die like its ancestors did. I hate harmonic resonance and rockets flying on the wrong axis.
Because of this interest, Myoldmopar and I launch rockets (albeit small ones) in our backyard.
You can watch the very beginnings of this hobby of ours, updated as soon as I can on my YouTube.
Sports
I can tell you absolutely nothing about any primary sport here in America. But you will never catch me missing a swimming (or… really any) event at the Olympics.
I swam for a local club here in Oklahoma a few years ago and I really liked the competitions, but there were just too many practices to focus
on anything else in my life. Of course, I still love swimming in our smallish pool at home, and we keep personal records to try and break occasionally.
We’ve also gotten outrageously lucky that two Olympic disciplines (softball and canoe slalom) will be hosted here in Oklahoma during Los Angeles 2028,
so we’re going to try and see both of those when we can.
Other
I’m highly interested in learning a new language. Spanish was okay, but I didn’t have a great teacher during high school so I haven’t retained anything.
But after I saw Gallaudet University’s culture in Washington, D.C., I knew that that’s what I wanted to learn.
I’m now going for a minor in American Sign Language along with my aerospace degree.
